Bedok is an established and mature residential area popular for its East side connectivity and family centric living vibes. Eateries here are often featured in the press and blogs, while the many living options from HDB resale blocks in mature areas to established or newer condominiums create a vibrant real estate landscape.
The significant number of residents who stay here is co-related to the Bedok New Town affordable housing units. Homes here are popular with those who grew up in the east but perhaps don’t want to pay the higher prices in places like Tanjong Rhu or Marine Parade.

The Bedok area makes up almost to 9.4 km² with some 42% of this land currently under for residential usage. It used to be a relatively hilly part of Singapore and therefore the planned focus point for the town is a uniquely landscaped park and a sports complex to provide residents the choice to engage in some outdoor activities.
The residential area and the more industrial areas were planned into a balanced neighbourhood concept with a good number of established condominium developments in Bedok with areas for new ones to flourish as well.
Bedok has a town centre with the popular Bedok Ball and Bedok Point, with an ongoing integrated complex, the size of three football fields. There is a sports centre, clinics, library and a place for the elderly in the form of the community club.
With a whopping 58,000 units of affordable HDB housing built in Bedok New Town, this provides more supply to the demand in this popular district with an active resale property market.
