Overview:

District 13 - Potong Pasir, Macpherson, Woodleigh

The Potong Pasir area is still relatively less developed as compared to other neighbourhoods at the moment. However, this previously sleepy area with heartland residents and it’s rare slower pace is seeing some heightened development in the market of late. It’s still easy to find local shops hawking basic house items as opposed to the usual mega suburban malls peppering other districts.

This district is soon set for change, as with all things in Singapore – the influx of large private developers and the surrounding plots of land around the Woodleigh area, are rapidly gaining steam, with popular developments such as WOHA Architects designed The Tre Ver, under development at the moment.

The Potong Pasir estate is also known amongst locals as being one of the strongholds of the political opposition party in Singapore’s primarily PAP dominated landscape. That has not affected it’s inevitable progression towards having newer private developments in the pipeline nearby.
