Overview:

District 06 - City Hall, High Street, North Bridge Road

The City Hall area is now a densely built shopping hub in the region, with malls like Raffles City, Suntec City, Marina Square, Esplanade Bay all linked by an underground link mall accessible from the City Hall MRT Station, a major interchange in the train network of Singapore.

Located nearby is the massive National Art Gallery, adding a much needed cultural buzz to the business vibe. On a typical day you’ll find lots of working professionals flocking over to the plentiful number of eateries and cafes found here for a quick lunch break before heading back to their work.

Even with the tranquil serene like St Andrew’s Cathedral just above the MRT Station, you can feel the zestful energy bustling around these areas and it does seem to feel like people tend to walk a little faster here.

City living, culture, entertainment and convenience

Many of Singapore’s most prominent and historical landmarks are also located within District 06, such as the National Museum of Singapore, the Supreme Court of Singapore, Chijmes and of course, The City Hall, which was once known as the Municipal Building.

As you might expect, the facade of District 06 has evolved plenty of times in the relatively short history of modern Singapore.

Starting out as a busy (but polluted) harbour for goods to be transported into Singapore, the once foul-smelling riverside has been cleaned up and revamped into one of the coolest places to chill in Singapore.

Situated along the northern bank of the Singapore River, District 06 comprises of the City Hall and Clarke Quay areas.

Known as an entertainment hub lined with watering holes and famous restaurants, District 06 truly comes to life when night falls.
